Lindsay Camello’s Run 4 Leukemia Lymphoma Society is tomorrow at Go Bananas Comedy Club.  The show will be interpreted in sign language, and some of Cincinnati’s finest comics will be on hand.  Show starts at 8:00, tickets are 10 bucks.  I wrote this in yellow because it grabs your attention and is for a good cause, be there.

Over in Cold Springs Kentucky this very same night at Guys n’ Dolls, The Dysfunctional Comedy Tour pulls into town.  Ray Price, Jason Robbins, Rob Wilfong, Larry Love and yours truly (that’s me) will be invading the club for our first time and will be bringing our not-so-politically correct comedy with us.  They have a great menu and full bar, it’s also biker night so you know shit is about to go down.  Tickets are only $5.00 and the show starts at 7:30.

9/16 – 9/19 – Go Bananas will have Michael Kosta headlining this week.  Michael Kosta recently made his late night debut on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.  He has also appeared on Comedy Central’s ‘Live at Gotham’, and at the HBO/ US Comedy Festivalin Aspen, Colorado.  His stand up has been seen on TBS during commercial breaks and on Showtime’s ‘Live Nude Comedy’ (no he wasn’t nude) and at the ‘Best of Fest’ show at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival.  Featuring will be Patrick Keane and MC’ing will be the hillarious local talent Sally Brooks.

9/16 – 9/19 – DeRay Davis will be on the other side of the river at The Funnybone on the Levee.  DeRay Davis is quickly killing Hollywood with his hilarious humor and persona. DeRay is the star of Lions Gate’s DVD feature Frankenhood, released May 5, 2009 and can be seen starring opposite Eddie Murphy in the June 12, 2009 Summer release Imagine That. DeRay also stars in Warner Brothers License to Wed opposite Mandy Moore and Robin Williams, Dimension’s School for Scoundrels, Swap Meet , and New Line Cinema’s Code Name: The Cleaner

He has performed in the Leicester, Vancouver, Washington DC, Portland, Just For Laughs/Chicago, and the USCAF/Aspen comedy festivals, and has been on the TV via “Last Call with Carson Daly,” “The Very Funny Show” on TBS and “The World Stands Up” on the BBC. He was called “bleak and misanthropic” by the London Evening Standard, which he still feels may be a compliment. 9/9 – 9/12 – As usual, on the other side of the river the Funny Bone on the Levee will have Kyle Dunnigan headlining.  Kyle Dunnigan, actor and stand-up comedian, is best known for his recurring role as “Craig,” a.k.a. “The Truckee River Killer,” in the hit Comedy Central series, “Reno 911!” He also appears in the movie, “Reno 911!: Miami.” Kyle was a series regular on NBC’s “Howie Do It” and Fox’s “Cedric The Entertainer Presents.” As a stand-up comedian, Kyle has had his own half-hour special on Comedy Central and has appeared on “Late Night With Conan O’Brien,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and “The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson.”  For showtimes or reservations visit www.funnyboneonthelevee.com

8/23 – Bada Budan’s in Cincinnati will be the host to the Jazztastic Voyage.  What that means, is that you’ve got a place to watch great local comics and enjoy some smooth jazz afterwards.  Free admission, free parking, start your week out right.

8/26 – 8/29 – Thursday through Sunday at Go Bananas Headliner Ryan Dalton is coming to town.  Ryan first tried stand up comedy on a dare, and took the stage in Nanuet, NY in 1998. This experience started a hunger for the constant approval from crowds of complete stangers. His thirst would never be quenched!

Ryan soon discovered the entertainment industry where a basic lack of knowledge on any subject is not only necessary, but also embraced. He uses stand-up as a device in which he pokes fun at controversy and the “everyday personal injustices” that are dealt with by the common man, sorry, person, whatever!

Featuring for Mr. Dalton will be Jake Baker, and super local talent Mike Berlon will be Master Of Ceremonies.

8/26 – 8/29 – On the other side of the river, Funnybone On The Levee is having the very funny Dan Cummins.  Dan just taped his first One Hour Special for Comedy Central on October 17th, 2009, receiving a standing ovation after performing 65+ minutes of new material to a sold out house at the Bing Crosby Theater in Spokane, Washington. This yet-to-be named special, which will premiere on Comedy Central in early 2010, is a follow up to his popular half-hour special, Comedy Central Presents Dan Cummins, which was voted the 3rd favorite 1/2 hour special in Comedy Central Present’s history by fans in the 2009 Stand Up Show Down.

Ok boys and girls, this is why this week in local comedy is so super fuckin special.  Friday and Saturday at Sawyer Point will be the Cincy Brew Ha Ha.  For those of your unaware what that is, it’s 3 stages, 50 comics and 80 different variety of beers.  To top it off, the comedy is FREE.  There will be at least 10-15 nationally touring comics, and did I mention you will see them for absolutely free?!  That’s a steal of a life time.  On top of that, some of the best local talent was hand picked to open up the show, so this is the most talent you’ll see in one place at the same time.  Friday’s headliner will be Bobcat Goldthwait, and Tim Wilson will be the headliner Saturday night.  I’m not even doing this event justice, so head over to www.cincybrewhaha.com and check out the full line up for both days.  Free comedy, booze and food is at your finger tips boys and girls.  Eat, laugh and be merry.

For those of you not heading to the Brew Ha Ha on Saturday, The Dysfunctional Comedy Tour will be pulling into Batavia OH for a 9:30 show at the Eastside Center.  Joining me will be Rob Wilfong, Larry Love, Jason Robbins and headliner Ray Price.  At least I think Ray is headlining, if not him than Jason will be.

8/19 – 8/22 – From Thursday through Sunday Go Bananas hosts headliner Mike Vecchione.  Mike’s started stand up comedy in 2000 and moved to New York City in 2003. He’s performed on Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham” and you’ve seen him on IFC’s hit show “Z-Rock.”  In 2009, Mike won the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Comic at the NY Comedy Festival.  Appearing with Mike is 2 tremendous local talents as Gabe Kea is the feature act, while Andrew Short is the MC for all shows.

8/19 – 8/22 -Stand Ups for the Troops National Comedy Tour Coming to The Funny Bone in Newport Kenucky on August 18th, 2010 at 8:00PM
